Take a good look at sweet little Gizmo Ladies and Gents.
Looks awfully sweet and innocent doesn't he?
Well, take it from me, Gizmo here is the perfect metaphor for the wedding-planning process.
Everything starts out all great and happy; you're so excited, full of all kinds of great ideas, and so eager to get started.
Then, before you know it, you've spilled water on little Gizmo and he starts to multiply - a rapidly expanding guest list, grand ideas that don't even begin to fit into the budget, and a billion new unexpected expenses.

Then, to make matters worse, the "cute" little buggers chew through the cord on your alarm clock, and you accidentally feed them after midnight - the budget has dwindled to nothing, , and the location you've booked for a Bridal Shower goes belly-up and the owner wants to shut down.
Take a good look, girls:

This is what's become of what was once a cute and cuddly little creature.
It's a wonder that more couples don't chuck the big wedding and elope...even though the big "party" that is deemed a reception is where all the money is really going - where all the stress really comes from for the most part.....
Now, I'm not saying that everything has gone to hell in the course of planning our wedding, but it has been quite stressful on occasion. Our guest list has expanded beyond what we'd originally estimated (and Steve just wants to keep adding new people everytime he sees someone else on the streets), and I'm constantly thinking of new things that need to be figured out, and the number crunching is starting to freak me out a bit.
We've got less than 3 months until the "big day." Fortunately I have 2 great girls that are deemed the matron and maid of honor for a reason and 5 other girls that are my bridesmaids that are there to help as well. I certainly can't wait for the wedding, and I'm sure everything will come together and it will be great.
But still...knowing that in 3 days it will be August and no longer July - for some reason August is just SO much closer to October than July is! FREAKS ME OUT!
The stress is driving me up the wall...
